The morning was beautiful |

Rainbow across the mountains |

Arrowhead Lake |

Rae Lake on the way to Glenn Pass |
Dollar Lake to Kearsarge pass trail 11115ft elevation.
We climbed up to Glen Pass 11926ft
Today we traveled: 9.23miles. 2871ft elevation gain 1982ft elevation loss.
JMT mile marker: 180mile.
We did it!! We got up and packed camp early to beat the thunderstorm and rain that was forecast to start at 11am. We wanted to be up and over Glen Pass when the storm came around. We had 5 miles and a pretty steep climb and we summit at 10:50am and the weather seemed to be still holding for us as we came the other side. Wow that pass wasn’t too bad but it was rugged and steep at the top. Not a whole lot of place to stop as it is narrow and steep both direction. Think of a knife’s edge. That what the top was like.
The dark clouds only made it more dramatic and very fitting for Glen Pass.

Going up! |
 |
Very ragged path |
 |
Bob and another hiker switching back and forth going up |
 |
Can you spot Bob? This is a wide angle to show the path and how steep both sides are |
 |
Dramatic sky |
 |
We’re on top and feeling good!! |
The storm finally arrived when we were hiking up Kearsarge pass and by the time we found water we were in full rain gear and ready to make camp. We set up our tent in the rain and got into the it quickly - without getting our wet clothes inside was tricky. Once we settled in - of course it stopped raining. Ha! Out we went and try to dry everything out.

Our view for the night |
 |
Today’s hike profile yucks! Haha |
The view was outstanding. We could see Bullfrog Lake and the mountains surrounding it.
Tomorrow we will head down to Onion Valley for a much needed rest and resupply for the last part of our trip. We keep a close eye on the weather reports Bob is able to get through his satellite device, we need to get up and over the pass before the next storm. Camping in the rain is different than camping in nice weather and much harder. Yifat.
