Did around 10 miles. We are in good shape for making pick-up for resupply. Two more passes, Glen and Kearsarge to Independence. We get a lift to the hotel at the trailhead for Kearsage Pass in onion valley. It is a 7 mile hike off the JMT. Both of us are stronger and mostly recovered from our colds. YC had to take anti-histamines because of allergy attack. So the gods are seeing how tough we are. 46k feet climbing, probably 250 miles by the time we are done, vicious head colds and now allergies. All good though. Today feels like I Can See Clearly Now by Jimmy Cliff. YC suggestion because she could breath through her nose (it fit with rain storm giving up enough for us to have tea and dinner too). Also feels like 10,000 Emerald Pools by Borns.
Today has easy hike down hill along amazing waterfalls and pools in Woods Creek, a tributary of the South Fork of the Kings River.
We see black dikes in the granite on the trail and in the mountains to the south. They're from magma intrusions in the granite and literally look like someone sealed the granite with asphalt.

Across the suspension bridge (one person at a time) and we start our climb. We stop at 2:45 after hiking in rain gear for a couple miles and set our tent. And jump in as it starts to really rain and hail. We have to finish our Sheppard pie in the tent.
